Bruce Meyer, O.D.,FCOVD
Bruce Meyer,O.D. FCOVD is a licensed Optometric Physician and has practiced in the State of New Jersey for the past 28 years. He welcomes patients of all ages. Due to his extensive post graduate training and experience, he is highly regarded in the area of children's vision and the evaluation of visually related learning problems. He is a life-long Bergen County resident and a graduate of Rutgers College in New Jersey and the New England College of Optometry in Boston. Having achieved high honors in optometry school, Dr. Meyer was also elected to the BZK Optometric Honor Society.
After completing his residency in Pediatric Vision Analysis and Vision Therapy at the Sate University of New York State College of Optometry, Dr. Meyer served as Assistant Clinical Professor from 1983 to 1986. His research and article on "Infant Vision" was published in the Journal of the American Academy of Optometry. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, The New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians and The College of Optometrists in Vision Development the certifying body for Vision Therapists, where he has acheived fellowship status.
As the father of four, Dr. Meyer understands and knows how to deal with children. In addition, he has first-hand experience in working with individuals with developmental delay (one of his daughters is developmentally challenged). He is currently the Clinical Director of Special Olympics Lions Club's International Opening Eyes of New Jersey, a program that provides free screening, exams, and glasses to Special Olympic athletes. Dr. Meyer, with the help of his wife, Cindy, continues to play a significant part in the Special Olympics each year. He has been a staff optometrist at Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ for the past five years and is on the Board of Directors of JADD, the Jewish Association for Developmental Disabilities.
Cindy Meyer, Office Manager
Cindy Meyer is Dr. Meyer's wife. Together, they have been running Riverdell Family Vision Care for over 6 years. She is the primary office manager, and is very knowledgeable about all of the different eye care products that are available. She chooses most of the frames in our office, and has created an exciting mix of designer frames as well as many for those on a budget. If you have any questions about your glasses or your bill, she can most likely provide you an answer.
Alyce has worked with Dr. Meyer for many years, and knows many of the nuances of the eye care business. She is very knowledgeable and is the chief vision therapist in the office. She has been working with patients in vision therapy for over five years, and has extensive experience training vision therapy patients. She can answer many of your questions about vision therapy and help you in determining if your services are covered by your insurance. She will gladly help you in any way that she can.
Rosalind Paolazzi, Optometric Assistant
Rosalyn is a mother of four who has joined our staff about a year ago. Although she is the newest member of our staff, she has quickly learned most of our office procedures, and can answer most of your questions. She is very helpful and willing to help you in any way that she can. She has began to work with Alyc doing vision therapy.
